Wales

My country

Wales is a small country on the edge of Europe mainly surrounded by the Irish Sea and bordering England along its Eastern border known as Offa’s Dyke. Its population of 3million, 20% of whom are Welsh speaking is mainly focussed in the industrial south and north-east with a mainly rural economy operating in the rest of the country. With a spectacular coastline and beautiful, accessible mountain ranges it is a country seeped in history and legend. The capital city of Cardiff is a popular destination with a modern and cosmopolitan vibe.

My city

Cardiff is a popular destination with a modern and cosmopolitan vibe.  Established as the capital of Wales in 1955 it has both modern and historic architecture side by side.  Cardiff Castle and the well-known Millennium Stadium are located in the city centre as is the thriving St David’s shopping centre.  Appealing to couples, families and sports fans Cardiff attracts visitors from all over the world.  It boasts a pedestrian friendly city centre and easy access to the redeveloped Cardiff Bay.   Sitting on the south coast of Wales it can be used as a gateway to exploring the rich culture of Wales as well as the Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire Coast National Parks.
